Herb Walks & Talks

I have run herb walks, talks and other herbal events in the UK, Germany, Russia and most recently in Italy and Uganda. I love to get out and meet people – and I always learn something new when I do. Herb walks and talks are usually short, one off events and work really well for community groups and any group with an interest in natural health, nature and the great outdoors. I would be delighted to create a bespoke programme for your group, just CONTACT ME.

Herb Walks

Herb walks are a great way for people to reconnect with the nature that’s right on their doorstep.  Whether you live in the country or in the city, you’ll be amazed at the diversity of useful plants right on your doorstep.  I will guide you on a walk and introduce you to the plants in your neighbourhood.  Or you can come and visit mine!

Talks

One off talks from 30 minutes to 2 hours can encompass a really wide range of subjects.  Choose from the ones below or CONTACT ME to discuss your area of interest.  I am often asked to speak for specific groups about a particular health condition and will be happy to do so if I think herbal medicine can be of benefit.

What is Herbal Medicine?

Ethnobotany

The study of our relationship to the plants around us.  By delving into folklore, mystery and rituals we’ll look at cultures from across the world and learn the important role that plants have always played in diverse cultures.

Natural Medicine in the Tropics

Imagine our western healthcare system did not exist?  What would you do if your health depended on the plants around you?  That is a reality for 80% of the World’s population. During my travels in Europe, Africa and Asia I’ve collected stories of herbal traditions and modern day uses that have made me view western healthcare in a new light.

‘The highlight of the afternoon were the herbal preparations Pamela made for us on the day. We had Lemon Balm tea, the juice from Goose Grass (Sticky Willie to you and me) and also were able to sample an ointment made from Chickweed. All these were extremely simple to make as she demonstrated. Thanks to Pamela for an interesting and enlightening afternoon.’
The Garden Diary

‘Thank you very much indeed for the excellent talk you gave us last Friday. The ladies were most impressed and some have been speaking of asking you to speak to their various Rurals, Guilds etc – so expect some phone calls!’ Cunninghame Flower Club

‘On Sunday Transition WK hosted a fabulous festive herbal workshop. The lucky ladies in attendance made natural scented body oils, face creams, lip balm, bath salts, herbal sweeties and rose infused honey. Everyone picked up new skills from our medical herbalist and left with brilliant handmade gifts to give at Christmas (or to stash and pamper themselves with later!)’ www.transitionwk.org
